Advocacy for Parishioners with Disabilities

St. Maria Goretti Parish’s Advocate for Persons with Disabilities is Rose Angelocci-Lacho.

What is a Parish Advocate?

Parish advocates are volunteers who act on behalf of persons with disabilities to ensure that all are invited to share in the life of our parish. The parish advocate serves as a liaison between persons with disabilities and St. Maria Goretti and between St. Maria Goretti and the Archdiocesan Commission on Persons with Disabilities.

The Commission’s Mission Statement

“Through our witness, support, and sharing of knowledge and resources we provide a more meaningful, fruitful, and lifelong encounter with Christ for individuals living with disabilities and their families.”

Some of the Commission’s Goals include:

* Increased access to the facilities, ministries, and services of the church.

* Individuals with disabilities and families will be full, active participants in all aspects of our church community.

Rose is here to serve as a resource for individuals, families, parish organizations, and church leaders.
